Is an e-signature actually legal in Nepal?
Yes, for most agreements, and not because we say so. The Electronic Transaction Act, 2063 already treats a properly executed electronic signature as equivalent to one made by hand.
What the Act recognises
The Electronic Transaction Act, 2063 gives an electronic signature the same legal standing as a handwritten one for most kinds of agreements. That is the statute doing the work, not a claim ghumSign makes on your behalf; the same law that lets a bank accept an e-signed loan document lets your business accept an e-signed contract.
What makes a signature relied on later
Legal standing is not only about the mark on the page. It is about being able to show who signed, when, and that nothing changed afterwards. Every ghumSign signature is issued against a certificate from a certifying authority licensed in Nepal, and is recorded with the time, the device and the IP address it came from.
What stays with the document
The audit trail is attached to the document rather than kept somewhere you have to remember to look. Sent, viewed, signed, in order, for every signer. If a signature is ever disputed, that record is the answer instead of a search through old email.
Where wet ink is still required
